PAGE IS MADE OF PAPER
This is Page. Page is made of paper.
Page lives in a faraway forest where tall trees grow happily...
until they are cut down, to make paper.
If we don’t plant new trees, there will be no more paper.
Without paper, it will be very hard to draw...
no matter how many crayons you have!
A caterpillar crawls up the tree,
a bear hugs the tree, GRR-UMPH!
a woodpecker stops to say hello. HELLO, MY NAME IS BERNARD!
Today, Tuesday, Bernard is digging a very long hole, looking for bugs.
TAP! TAP! TAP!
When the tree fell down, only the woodpecker heard it fall.
A truck drove slowly to the paper mill.
The machines were spinning fast,
the tree was chopped into small pieces,
and mixed into a wet slurry of pulp!
Page was rolled, squeezed and dried.
Page was typed, folded and stitched.
ONCE UPON A TIME, IN A FOREST FAR, FAR AWAY...
Just like that, Page was a book.
